Selecting
a qualified Music Teacher for your child?
Ask the
music teacher some of these questions:
♫ Are you
a member of the Music Teachers’ Association of Queensland?
♫ Do you
have a vacancy?
♫ What are
your qualifications?
♫ What is
your background and experience?
♫ Do you
have qualification for the particular instrument you teach?
♫ How long
have you been teaching?
♫ Do you
have a Suitability Card?
♫ At what
grade levels are your current students?
♫ Do you
prepare students for exams?
♫ Do you
give your students the opportunity to perform in
public?
♫ What
books do you use?
♫ Why do
you use these books?
♫ Do you
teach theory?
♫ Do your
students take part in competitions and
eisteddfods?
♫ Do you
attend professional development workshops?
♫ Do
you give group lessons?
♫ How long
are lessons and how much do you charge?
All teaching
members of MTAQ have professional teaching qualifications and/or a
successful teaching record.
Disclaimer: While the MTAQ Secretary and
Council do everything they can to confirm that members are current
Blue Card
holders, it is ultimately the parents' responsibility to ensure that the
teacher, whom they choose for their child, has a current
Blue Card.
