Sunshine Coast Teachers' Group

WELCOME to the MTAQ Inc. Sunshine Coast Group.

We are a group of qualified music teachers from Bribie Island to Hervey Bay including the hinterland.  Qualified teachers of most instruments including voice are listed for your perusal on this website with the assurance that whether you wish to learn for leisure or want to become a qualified musician there will be a teacher for you.  We also welcome enquiries from local teachers interested in becoming members.

MEETINGS:

We have three structured meetings per year in Nambour and several social get-togethers at coffee shops in various locations when we can enjoy discussions relating to teaching.

Next meeting - Saturday 13th July, 10.00am. – Morning tea followed by discussion meeting at Banjo’s, Maroochydore (near Woolworths).

CONCERTS:

Sunday 28th July, 2pm: Student Concert - Nambour Christian College, 2 McKenzie Road, Woombye.

Sunday 13th October, 2pm:  Student Concert – Lutheran Hall, Sydney Street, Nambour. 

WORKSHOPS:

Saturday 20th July, 1pm. – Michael Griffin Seminar/Workshop for teachers followed by parents, students and teachers 2.30 to 3.45pm. at
St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Beach Road and Church Street, Maroochydore.

BURSARY:

Three $100 bursaries are awarded each year to Championship winners (and several trophies are donated) at the Sunshine Coast Junior Eisteddfod held in August. $100 is given to the Police Youth Club “magic day” for needy children.
