11th APPC Registration Brochure
Dear Colleagues
On behalf of the Australasian Piano Pedagogy Conference Association and the Organising Committee for the 11th Australasian Piano Pedagogy Conference, we are delighted to invite you to attend the 11th Australasian Piano Pedagogy Conference (APPC) which will be held at the University of Southern Queensland, Toowoomba, from Tuesday 2 July to Saturday 6 July 2013.
The 2013 Conference – which marks the 20 year anniversary of the inaugural conference – represents a milestone for our organisation, which was launched in 1993 in Adelaide, and brings together pianists, teachers, students, scholars and piano enthusiasts from all over Australia and beyond.
The theme for the conference is:
In selecting the theme, the Organising Committee has sought to present delegates with opportunities that open doors to leading pedagogical and performance practices and foster effective teaching and pianism. The conference will be a celebration of the past and an exploration of piano pedagogy and performance in the future. Cognisant that we live in a digital age, there will also be opportunities to explore how digital technology can enhance the piano learning process.
Submissions of scholarly papers, lecture recitals and discussion topics for leading an open forum on piano pedagogy and/or digital technology and/or performance, which are linked to the theme, are invited. Proposals for recitals are also invited. Submissions are welcomed as soon as possible but should be submitted no later than Friday 25 January 2013. All submissions and proposals must be accompanied by both a biography of the presenter of no more than 100 words and a completed Presenter Detail Sheet which can be downloaded from the conference website.
Early Bird registrations close on 3 May 2013 and Full Conference registrations close on 7 June 2013. We anticipate that the conference registration brochure will be available on the conference website by approximately September 2012.
