Sue
graduated from Melbourne CAE in 1985 as a specialist woodwind and classroom
music teacher. Her major instrument is the recorder family, having studied with
Greg Dikmans, Chris Burgess and Alan Murphy. She also has studied clarinet and
oboe to advanced levels.
Following graduation Sue taught
secondary music, both classroom and instrumental, within the East Gippsland
Music Centre, Victoria. After relocating to Coffs Harbour in NSW in 1992 she
established the Northern Beaches Music Centre, specialising in upper woodwinds.
Students were involved in AMEB exams and the local eisteddfod with consistently
excellent results.
Since coming to Brisbane’s northside (Wavell
Heights) in 1996 Sue has taught clarinet, recorders and oboe to students ranging
in age from 7 to over 70! Exam results continue to be excellent - testimony to
Sue’s focus on beauty of sound and musicianship as well as correct instrumental
technique.
Sue is a dynamic, enthusiastic teacher
who thoroughly enjoys the challenge of assisting students on their musical
journey. She can be contacted by phone or fax on 3266 3462, or by email at
